ClearTex vs SE Fit360 Comparison
Rear-Facing Start
The Chicco Fit360 ClearTex Rotating Convertible Car Seat allows rear-facing use starting at 4 pounds. This makes it suitable for newborns immediately after leaving the hospital. The Chicco Fit360 SE Rotating Convertible Toddler Car Seat requires a minimum rear-facing weight of 12 pounds. This higher threshold means the SE model is not designed for newborns. If you have a new baby, the ClearTex model accommodates your infant from birth. The SE model is better suited for toddlers who have already passed the newborn stage.
Seat Width
Width is critical for fitting your seat into smaller vehicles or aligning multiple seats in the back. The Chicco Fit360 ClearTex Rotating Convertible Car Seat has a seat width of 18.3 inches. This narrower profile is easier to manage in compact cars. The Chicco Fit360 SE Rotating Convertible Toddler Car Seat lists a seat width of 31.3 inches. This is significantly wider and may restrict space for other passengers or installations in smaller vehicles. The ClearTex model offers a clear advantage for drivers prioritizing interior space efficiency.
Weight Limits
Both seats share identical forward-facing weight limits of 65 pounds and rear-facing limits of 40 pounds. This means they support your child for the same duration in each mode once the child is heavy enough for the SE model. The rotation mechanism and LeverLock installation system are also identical in function and capacity. Neither model has an edge in maximum weight capacity. You can expect the same longevity of use for older toddlers and young children in both the ClearTex and SE variants.
Fabric Certification
Both models feature ClearTex flame retardant-free materials that are GREENGUARD Gold Certified for low chemical emissions. This specification contributes to healthier air quality around your child in both seats. The ClearTex model explicitly highlights this in its primary feature set. The SE model also lists ClearTex flame retardant-free materials and the same certification. There is no difference in the chemical safety standards or fabric certifications between the two models. Both provide the same low-emission environment for your child.
Target Audience
The product titles and descriptions define the intended user base for each seat. The Chicco Fit360 ClearTex Rotating Convertible Car Seat is marketed as a general rotating convertible seat suitable for infants and toddlers. The Chicco Fit360 SE Rotating Convertible Toddler Car Seat explicitly targets toddlers in its title and description. This aligns with its 12-pound minimum rear-facing weight. If you are looking for a seat specifically for a toddler who is already past the newborn stage, the SE model is labeled for that purpose.
Which Chicco Fit360 Model Fits You
Parents of newborns needing early rear-facing
The Chicco Fit360 ClearTex model supports rear-facing from 4 pounds. This allows immediate use for newborns. The SE version starts at 12 pounds, which excludes infants. If you need a seat for a baby right out of the hospital, the ClearTex weight range is the only option that accommodates your child from birth.
Buyers prioritizing flame retardant free fabrics
The ClearTex model features GREENGUARD Gold certification for low chemical emissions. It is explicitly flame retardant-free. While the SE model also mentions ClearTex materials, the ClearTex model highlights this specific certification and flame retardant-free status in its primary features. If reducing chemical exposure is your priority, this model emphasizes that benefit more clearly.
Shoppers wanting more color variety
The Fit360 ClearTex offers seven style and color options, including Grey, Carbon, Obsidian, Jet, Oat, and Teak. The Fit360 SE is limited to only two colors: Stellar/Blue and Lupine/Purple. If you prefer a specific aesthetic or want to match your vehicle interior, the ClearTex model provides significantly more variety in available designs and shades.
